Growth hormone questions for women

Age-related changes alone are not a diagnosis of growth hormone deficiency.

What an evaluation considers

Growth hormone secretion changes over a lifetime, but an ordinary age-related change does not establish a condition requiring somatropin. A clinician considers medical history, medications, symptoms in context and appropriate testing before making any treatment decision.

Avoid assumptions

Menopause, fatigue and changes in body composition can have many causes. Somatropin should not be presented as a general treatment for these concerns or as a guaranteed way to change appearance. Discuss concerns and alternatives with your own provider.
