Symptoms overlap with many conditions
Fatigue, sleep disruption, mood changes and changes in body composition are common and non-specific. Thyroid disease, iron deficiency, perimenopause, depression, sleep apnea and medication effects are frequent explanations and are typically assessed first.
Testing considerations
- Oral estrogen can lower IGF-1 levels and affect interpretation
- Thyroid and adrenal status are usually reviewed alongside growth hormone testing
- A single laboratory value is rarely diagnostic on its own
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Somatropin is not offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding through this pathway. Tell the treating provider if you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
Whether therapy is appropriate, and which product and strength are used, is determined solely by the treating licensed provider after an evaluation.
