What research describes
In adults with diagnosed growth hormone deficiency, replacement therapy has been associated with changes in body composition, including reduced fat mass and increased lean mass, alongside other metabolic effects.
These findings come from treatment of a diagnosed deficiency. They do not establish somatropin as a weight-loss treatment for people without that diagnosis.
Risk considerations
- Somatropin can raise blood glucose and reduce insulin sensitivity
- Fluid retention and joint symptoms are common early effects
- Unsupervised use carries real medical and legal risk
If weight is your main concern
Discuss it with a licensed provider, who can review approved options appropriate for you. Completing an evaluation does not guarantee treatment or a prescription.
