Growth hormone, cognition and mental health

Research questions do not make somatropin an established treatment for mood or memory concerns.

What research can and cannot tell us

Researchers have studied links between hormones, cognition and well-being. Findings in a particular group do not demonstrate that somatropin improves memory, concentration or mood for the general public.

Seek an appropriate evaluation

Changes in thinking or mood deserve medical attention, especially if new or persistent. A licensed provider can consider relevant causes and treatments; do not use growth hormone as a substitute for mental-health care.

This article is for general information, not individual medical advice. Discuss indications, risks, monitoring and alternatives with a licensed provider. An evaluation does not guarantee a prescription.
